P’s Pocket

Privacy Policy

Game records are primarily stored on your device. You can back up to your own iCloud account or a chosen folder, and hand a device to someone nearby after confirmation. The development team does not automatically receive your game content.

Scope and contact

This policy is provided by the P’s Pocket development team. It covers the P’s Pocket 1.0 iPhone app, its widgets, and the /ps-pocket/ pages on this website. Other Meets Link pages and apps have their own policies.

Contact us at supports@meetslink.app with questions about this policy or how data is handled.

Data stored on your device

The app processes imported firmware, device names and shells, game progress and live state, names or dates entered in the game, pet details, friend records, diaries, collections, app preferences, and tutorial progress on your device. The game records available depend on the firmware you use.

It also stores randomly generated device and instance identifiers, file checksums, backup status, and loan records. These support restoration, integrity checks, and prevention of duplicate handoffs; they are not advertising identifiers.

Widgets read the same device’s state and display through system shared storage and save progress after button presses. This does not upload data to the development team.

Automatic iCloud backup

Automatic iCloud backup is on by default when you are signed in to iCloud and iCloud Drive is available. You can turn it off in Settings → Backup & Restore.

Backups include the cabinet, each device’s progress, imported firmware and its running versions, restorable preferences, handoff records, and the source phone’s name, randomly generated device identifier, and backup time. Apple’s iCloud service stores them in your account. We do not receive these copies on our own servers or read your Apple Account password.

The app normally keeps the five most recent confirmed uploads per source device. Turning off backup does not delete existing copies. Uninstalling the app, deleting a device, or restoring an older backup does not automatically clear all cloud history. See the Apple Privacy Policy for Apple’s data practices.

Backup folders you choose

If you select an additional backup folder, the app gets access to that folder through the system file picker. Backups contain the relevant device’s progress, firmware, appearance, and handoff records. The app keeps five rotating copies per device.

The folder may be on your device, in iCloud Drive, or with a file service you choose. That service handles uploads and storage under its own terms. Backup files have no separate app password encryption, so choose a trusted location. Turning off backup, changing folders, or uninstalling the app does not remove backups from the previous folder.

Nearby multiplayer and handoffs

Nearby features use Apple’s system connectivity to discover devices and exchange game communication data. Participating devices exchange necessary randomly generated identifiers, session details, and compatibility information. During an in-person handoff, the other person can also see the device name supplied by the system; that name may contain personal information you set.

Names, friend information, and other records may be exchanged by the firmware’s own game protocol. After a loan or return is confirmed, the recipient receives that device’s progress, details, and handoff records. If the recipient lacks matching firmware, the handoff also transfers and imports the original firmware for that device. Returning the device does not automatically remove imported firmware.

Data goes to nearby devices participating in the game or handoff over connections that require system encryption, without an internet relay operated by us. Hand devices only to people you trust, and make sure you have the right to share the files involved.

Permissions and external services

Nearby multiplayer and handoffs require Local Network permission. Imports and folder backups access only files or folders you authorize in the system picker. You can revoke Local Network permission in system settings and turn off relevant backup features in the app.

The first release does not request camera, microphone, contacts, location, photo library, pet call notification, or cross-app tracking permission. Playing game sound through widgets does not use the microphone.

If you tap the firmware list’s web search button, your browser sends predefined search terms and firmware filenames to Bing, not your firmware contents or saved games. The Microsoft Privacy Statement applies to those requests. Apple may provide system diagnostics or store statistics according to your system privacy choices and Apple’s own rules.

Contacting support

When you email support, we receive your email address and the descriptions, device or version details, screenshots, or attachments you choose to send. We use them only to answer, troubleshoot, and follow up on your request, not for advertising, and we do not sell them.

Please avoid sending Apple Account passwords, complete commercial firmware, or unrelated personal information. Support information is retained only for as long as needed to handle the request, necessary follow-up, or legal obligations. Email supports@meetslink.app to request access to, correction of, or deletion of information you supplied.

Retention, deletion, and your choices

Local progress remains until you delete a device or remove the app. System backups, external copies, and copies on other devices may remain. A full restore may also preserve the previous data for safety. Manage these copies too if you want to delete everything.

Touch and hold in the cabinet, then confirm deletion to remove an eligible device. Borrowed devices and devices still on loan cannot be deleted directly. Remove unused imported firmware in Settings → Game Firmware.

To delete iCloud copies, manage P’s Pocket data using Apple’s iCloud storage controls. Delete additional folder copies through Files or the service concerned. Turn off automatic backup first to avoid creating new copies. We cannot remotely delete data on your or someone else’s device, private iCloud account, or file service.

This website

These P’s Pocket pages are hosted on GitHub Pages. They embed no advertising, analytics scripts, third-party fonts, or external tracking images, and do not use cookies to analyze visitors.

The hosting service may process IP addresses, browser details, and request times to deliver pages and maintain security, under the GitHub Privacy Statement. Website request data is not linked to your game records. External websites and email services handle data under their own rules when you follow links or send email.

The website reads your browser’s language preferences to choose a page language. If you switch languages manually, only the chosen language is saved locally in that browser. It is not used for tracking or advertising and is not linked to app data. Clearing this site’s browser data removes the preference.

Security and changes to this policy

The app uses system app isolation, file integrity checks, and encrypted nearby connections to limit data access. Protection also depends on your device, cloud or file services, and recipient devices. No method can guarantee absolute security.

When this policy changes, we update the date on this page. We will give additional notice of important data-handling changes where applicable. Send privacy questions and requests to supports@meetslink.app.
