How do I start playing?
Go to Settings → Game Firmware → Import Firmware and select an existing .bin file in the system file picker. You can also use Open in P’s Pocket from Files.
After validation, create a device in the cabinet, choose the imported firmware and a shell, and take it out to play. The first tutorial includes original practice firmware; no separate tutorial download is needed.
Why will my firmware file not import?
Use compatible, complete original firmware, rather than a translation patch, a ZIP archive, or an incomplete dump. Open Compatible Firmware List from the help button on the firmware page to compare the filename, size, and hashes.
If the file is in cloud storage, make sure it has finished downloading. If the problem continues, send us the exact error message. We do not supply official firmware or grant permission to use it.
How do game language options work?
The option to create a device with a Chinese patch is available only when the app interface is in Simplified Chinese and the selected firmware has a matching patch. You can keep the original language instead.
Traditional Chinese and English interfaces do not offer that switch. The app interface language is separate from the game language in the imported firmware.
Where can I find the tutorials again?
Go to Settings → How to Play → App Tutorial. Separate tutorials also cover the cabinet, organizing devices, multiplayer, and adjusting the view. Choose just the topic you need.
How do I use split screen, reorder, or delete devices?
Tapping another device in the cabinet replaces the one you are playing. To play with more than one, choose Play Alongside in a device menu. You can play with up to four devices.
Tap the title below a device to see its details. Touch and hold a device to organize the cabinet, then drag to reorder or use its delete button. Deletion requires confirmation. Borrowed devices and devices still on loan cannot be deleted.
How do I back up or restore my progress?
Check Settings → Backup & Restore. Automatic iCloud backup is on by default when you are signed in to iCloud and iCloud Drive is available. You can also make an immediate backup. Check that the app reports the upload as complete.
After reinstalling or changing phones, use the same Apple Account and choose a backup in Restore from iCloud. A full restore replaces the current cabinet instead of merging progress. Save your current data first, and restart the app when instructed.
You can also choose an additional backup folder. Turning off backup or deleting a device in the app does not remove existing copies in iCloud, external folders, or other devices.
Why will nearby multiplayer or a loan not connect?
Keep both devices close, with Wi-Fi on and the app in the foreground. Check the app’s Local Network permission in system settings, and use the same current app version on both devices where possible.
For multiplayer, start with the communication option inside the game. For a loan, the recipient opens Receive Pet Device in the cabinet and the sender chooses Handoff in Person for their device. Both people check the code and confirm.
If a handoff is interrupted, reconnect the original devices and follow the retry prompt. Do not delete a device or reinstall the app to try to bypass a loan lock.
Will my pet keep growing while the app is closed?
The first release resumes from the last saved position. It does not provide continuous background play, offline growth, or pet call notifications.
Widget buttons can briefly run the game, play its current sounds, and update the display. They do not keep the game running continuously in the background.
Why has a widget not updated or played sound?
First open the app and check that the selected device is playable. Then check the system media volume and which device the widget uses. The system controls widget update timing.
If there is an error message, record it and contact support. Do not delete the app before confirming that your backup is safe.
How do I manage imported firmware?
In Settings → Game Firmware, tap an imported entry to see its storage use and devices that depend on it. You can remove firmware that no device uses; firmware still in use is protected.
Removing an imported copy does not delete your original external file or copies in existing backups.
